Some hotels on the island have been recently renovated and come close to matching the comfort of Rancho Estero, though of course you won't be able to depend on the staff for the same intimate knowledge of the beaches.To be honest, Rancho Estero is the target of the surfing crowd, though its facilities were also recently upgraded to handle family vacationers as well. Rancho Estero's recent major renovations upgraded the available rooms, added Internet service, and brought fine cuisine to its dining room. These are the accommodations one expects in a major facility, and you will not be let down in your expectations. This is going to be one memorable stay for you.
If, however, they are full, you can call one of the other top Santa Catalina hotels as an alternative. Like Rancho Estero, some hotel managements recently made major investments in upgrading the facilities available for guests. The upgrades include major changes to guest rooms, Internet and cable access and fine dining facilities so that it is completely up to date.If the Rancho Estero and Santa Catalina are completely booked, don't despair. You have at least 15 other decent choices in the general area. You should also be able to find fine accommodations a short ride from the beach front, even if it is a bit of a compromise in comparison. They may not be on the beach, but they are only a short drive away!
